About Prescott Jewelry
Prescott Jewelry has stood on the same New York block since 1964. Margaret’s parents opened it, and Margaret has run it for most of her life — every piece designed and finished by hand in the workshop behind the shop, including the solid copper she has hammered one piece at a time for over forty years.
She is sixty-nine now, and she is closing the workshop while she still has the time to spend with her family. There is no one left to take the counter after her. What is still in the cases is the last of it — when it is gone, there is no restock.
"I have spent most of sixty years with my head down over this bench, hammering copper one piece at a time. My grandchildren are growing up while I do it. I am sixty-nine, and I would like to be there for the rest of it. Closing the door on my parents' dream is the hardest thing I have ever done — but I know what I want these years to look like."

“Bought it for myself and it came like a gift”
I bought it for my joints and stayed for everything else. It arrived in a cream box with a ribbon and a card written out by hand, which I was not expecting for the price. I bought it for myself, which I do not do often, and it still felt like somebody had picked it out for me.
