Sixty-two years of engagements, anniversaries and everyday moments
About Prescott Jewelry
Prescott Jewelry has stood on the same New York block since 1964. Margaretβs parents opened it, and Margaret has run it for most of her life β every piece designed and finished in the workshop behind the shop.
We keep the runs small and sell direct, with no Fifth Avenue showroom to pay for and no advertising department upstairs. That is the whole of why the prices look the way they do.
"My hands have set stones in this shop since I was twenty-three. Every piece that leaves this counter still passes through them, and I will not put the name on work I cannot stand behind."
Excellent
“Bought it for myself and it felt like a gift”
The necklace is lovely and I have worn it a great deal already. What surprised me was how it arrived. The tissue, the ribbon, the little card. I bought it for myself, which I do not do often, and it still came like somebody picked it out for me.

“I can fasten it myself”
My hands are not what they used to be. I have two necklaces sitting in a drawer because I cannot work the clasps on my own anymore. This one I get first try, every time. I wear it most days now. More companies ought to think about that.

“Lovely piece, and it came like a gift”
The necklace is beautiful and heavier than I expected, which I like. It also came wrapped properly with real ribbon, tissue paper, and a card someone wrote out by hand. I opened it at the kitchen table with my tea and took my time. My daughter thought I paid three times what I did.

“No reaction, and my skin is difficult”
Since my 50s I have not been able to wear anything but real gold without breaking out. I have had this on 11 days straight, in the shower and out in the yard. Nothing. No green mark, no itching. Worth the money for that alone.

“Well made, and I have kept the box”
The chain is well made and sits right, which is not always the case at this price. It came wrapped up properly with a ribbon and a handwritten card. I am 69 and I cannot remember the last time anything showed up like that. The box is on my dresser now with my mother's rings in it.

“Came in 4 days and still looks new”
I ordered it for my granddaughter's birthday and it came in 4 days, well ahead of when I needed it. Every woman at that table asked where I got it. I am not one to make a fuss but I was pleased. Still looks new and I have worn it a lot.

“Beautiful bracelet, and they wrote me a card”
The bracelet is nicer in person than in the pictures and I have had it on every day since it came. They also tucked in a card written out by hand, which I was not expecting. It is still sitting on my kitchen windowsill. Little things like that stick with you.

“My sister ordered one too”
My sister liked mine so much she went and ordered the same one. We wore them to lunch together like a couple of schoolgirls. The gold is a warm color, not the brassy yellow you see everywhere. We are both in our 60s and I worried it would look too young on us. It does not.

“My daughter thought I overspent”
My daughter saw the box on the table and figured I had spent a lot more than I did. I let her think it a while. The box, the ribbon, the note, it all looks like it came from a real jeweler. Because it did.

“My jeweler asked if it was inherited”
I have worn pearls since my wedding day so I know what a good strand feels like. These have real weight to them. I took the necklace in to be cleaned and the man who has done my jewelry for 20 years asked which side of the family it came from. It came in the mail on a Tuesday.

“A real person answered the phone”
I ordered the wrong size, my own fault, and I called expecting a machine. A woman answered, took down my information, and had the right one out to me that same week with a label to send the other back. I am 65 and I cannot tell you how rare that is now.

“I have not taken them off”
I bought the pearl drops for our anniversary and they have not left my ears since. I am 71 and I have gotten to the age where I would rather have fewer things and better ones. These are the better ones. My daughter has already told me she wants them someday.

“Great experience from start to finish.”
The quality of the ring I received is beyond impressive. It came in beautiful packaging, fit perfectly, and honestly looks better than my friend's ring that cost four times as much. You can tell Prescott cares about their craft. 10/10!

“Thirty years a customer. I am heartbroken.”
I have been coming to Prescott for thirty years. I knew Margaret's parents when they were still behind the counter, and honestly nothing has slipped since β the quality is extraordinary and the service has always been the best I have had anywhere, without exception. Walking in there feels like family. I am so sad they are closing. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone.
